This is a brief a brief introduction to the membership of Chambers ... MEMBERSHIP OF CHAMBERS BY SENIORITYBruce Pitt LL.B (Lond) (Recorder) Called in 1970. Is the Head of Chambers and a founder member. He specialises in Criminal Law, and is a member of the West Indies Bar. David LANE QC LL.B (Hons) (Recorder) Called in 1968 (QC 1991) Mr. Lane undertakes work in the field of Criminal Law with an accent on complex fraud. David's main chambers are in Manchester. ( *door tenant) Denis BRADLEY Called in 1965 and undertakes work in relation to Crime and Licensing. Disciplinary Proceedings (particularly with regard to the Police). Christopher CUTTING Bungay GS, London School of Economics LL. B, LLM. Called in1973 (Middle Temple), Chris specialises in landlord and tenant (business and residential) and commercial property; other areas of work include real property, general civil (both common law and Chancery), employment and insolvency. Fluent in French and listed in Legal 500 Frank LEDWIDGE MA (Oxon), LLM called in 1990. Following a successful period in general common law practice in Liverpool, Frank Ledwidge has spent the last ten years involved in international Legal Reform and Human Rights, most recently as Justice Advisor to the UK Foreign Office in Afghanistan. A member of the Northern Circuit, he undertakes criminal and general common law nationwide. Frank has served several front line operational tours in the Balkans and Iraq as a military reserve officer. He speaks Albanian, Serbo-Croatian and French and has written and lectured extensively. Kaja REIFF-MUSGROVE B.A. (Sussex Hons.) Called in 1992. Kaja has been instructed in a wide range of serious Criminal cases both as leading and junior counsel and has experience of Very High Costs Cases. She specialises in Criminal Defence work but also has substantial experience of prosecuting serious crimes and is a grade 3 prosecutor. She is also frequently instructed in inquests. Her areas of specialisation include Rape and other Sexual offences, particularly those involving children, Drugs importation, production and supply, large scale Public Disorder, Identity Fraud, Mortgage Fraud and Mental Health issues. She has also been instructed in cases involving Firearms, Kidnap, False Imprisonment, Bank Robbery, Aggravated Burglary, Child Abduction (With an international element) Child Cruelty, Money Laundering, Confiscation proceedings, and Food Safety. Notable recent cases in which she has defended have included: R v Malone & others 2005 - 5 week trial at the Central criminal Court concerning the murder of wife in the course of divorce proceedings. R v L 2005 - man with mental health problems accused of raping his three daughters repeatedly over an eight year period. R v Rynsaard & others 2006 - Leading counsel in three month trial for conspiracy to import 400kg of cannabis. R v V and R v M 2006 grandfather and father with mental health difficulties accused of raping six year old boy. Secombes v R - appeal against conviction for GBH in Court of Appeal. Member of the Criminal Bar Association and Human Rights Committee. Yasreeb ZAHED B.Sc (Econ) LL.M (Lond) Called in 1993 . A founder member of Chambers. Undertakes work in the following areas: Landlord & Tenant, Employment, Licensing, Crime, Housing, Immigration. Nigel FFITCH QVRM T.D LL.B (Hons) Lond. Called in 1996 and undertakes work in a wide range of civil common law including Personal Injury, Consumer Credit, Professional Negligence, Sale of Goods, Landlord & Tenant, General Contract, Employment and Tort. Member of APIL and Bar Personal Injury Association. Anthony LENAGHAN LL.B (Hons) . Called in 1996 and undertakes work in relation to Criminal Law, Personal Injury and Licensing. Also practises in the Insolvency, Family, and Immigration fields. Experienced in drafting commercial contracts for television, new media and advertising companies. (Lectured on contract matters to corporate clients). Clare ATKIN BSc. LL.B (Hons) Harmsworth Scholar of Middle Temple. Called in 2001 following a career at the D.T.I (Insolvency Service and Companies Investigation Branch) Has acted as an Inspector in an insider Dealing Inspection. Undertakes Civil work with particular emphasis on Insolvency and Company. Miss Atkin has recently completed a period with the Treasury Solicitor's Department Private Law (C2) Team. While there she advised widely on cases involving physical and psychiatric injuries suffered by prisoners and prison employees, unlawful detention and other Prison and Personal Injury law. She also appeared extensively in various Courts nationwide on behalf of the Treasury Solicitor in assorted Multi-track, Fast Track and Small Claims matters. With regard to the Multi-track and Fast Track matters this included appearing in trials as well as various interlocutory hearings. Henry MAINWARING M.A. Oxon (First Class Honours). Tancred and Hardwicke scholarships. Called Lincoln's Inn 2001. Undertakes a broad range of civil work. He has wide experience of advising on and litigating contractual disputes (especially sale of goods and property related matters). He undertakes work in the fields of negligence (Both personal injury and professional negligence). He has considerable experience of coronial law and inquests. He also undertakes disciplinary work, frequently acting for respondents before the Solicitors' Disciplinary Tribunal and other professional regulatory bodies. Languages: French and Spanish.
Sheila ALY LLB (Hons).
Called 2002. Sheila has a broad ranging practice encompassing all substantive
areas of civil law with an emphasis on employment and education law. She
regularly receives instructions in the Employment Tribunals at all levels
and has recently been reported in a high profile case in which she appeared
as trial counsel. Currently lectures at ICSL (City University) in
respect of Civil Litigation. She has previously lectured on courses relating to
advocacy skills and has had articles published relating to employment law.

Scott WAINWRIGHT LLB (Hons). Called in 2006 and following a career in in
Surveying undertook his pupilage in the Chambers of Richard Ferguson QC before
joining Phoenix Chambers. Scott specialises in Criminal Law.
